At Shepherd Trust, we recognize that poverty is not just a lack of income — it is a lack of opportunity. Our Vocational Training Initiative is rooted in the belief that every young person, regardless of background, deserves a chance to build a future with dignity and purpose.
This program identifies youth from underserved communities who have dropped out of formal education or are struggling to find employment. We then equip them with practical skills in areas such as tailoring, carpentry, ICT, electrical work, and sustainable agriculture. Each participant is paired with certified trainers and given access to tools, safety equipment, and learning materials at no cost.
But we don’t stop there. Shepherd Trust also partners with local businesses to provide internships and job placements, ensuring a smoother transition into the workforce. The result is not just employment — it’s empowerment. These young men and women emerge with the confidence to contribute economically to their families and communities.
